Wines of Incomplete Provenance

Wines of Incomplete ProvenanceThere are many wines in the world that do not have demonstrable provenance, yet are sold and bought via reputable channels and then consumed with great pleasure. For example, a significant proportion of most wine auction catalogues is made up of such wines.

Whilst the core of GrapePip's business remains "wines of perfect provenance", we realise that there is also a demand for Wines of Incomplete Provenance. This new category enables us to offer such wines for sale whilst highlighting their difference from all other wines listed on the website.

When listing Wines of Incomplete Provenance we will, wherever possible, list under "Additional Information" what history we can ascertain about individual wines e.g. where they were bought and when. The fact that there are gaps in that history is what makes them Wines of Incomplete Provenance. We will also detail all documents which are available for viewing on demand and, for very old stock, we will ensure recent photographs are included in the Lot Details.

If you have wines which you would like to sell in the Wines of Incomplete Provenance category, please contact us.
